Whole-home replacement

The most common Idaho request: pull carpet and 1990s vinyl from the main level and run one continuous LVP through entry, great room, kitchen, hallway and bedrooms. The planning work is in the transitions — where the run has to break, how it meets remaining tile, and how the stairs are handled — and in confirming the subfloor is flat enough across the whole level, not just where the old carpet hid the dips.

Basements and below-grade rooms

Idaho basements are usually slab-on-grade concrete, and concrete gives off moisture for a long time. We run relative-humidity probe testing rather than guessing, and we specify a vapor retarder or a moisture-tolerant adhesive based on the actual reading. Below grade is where skipping this step shows up two winters later as cupped edges and adhesive failure.

Kitchens, baths and laundry

Wet rooms need attention at the perimeter, at the dishwasher and refrigerator pans, and under toilet flanges. Floating plank should not be trapped under cabinet toe kicks or heavy island bases; the floor has to be free to move. We plan cabinet-adjacent details before demolition rather than improvising at the end.

Stairs

Stairs are the part most quotes get wrong. LVP stair treads require either a matched manufacturer tread, a bullnose nosing profile, or a wrapped plank detail, and each carries different labor and material. We price stairs as their own line item so the number in front of you is honest.

What drives the price

We do not publish square-foot pricing, because a number without your rooms attached to it is guesswork. These are the variables that actually move the figure on this kind of project.

• Whole-home versus single-room scope, and whether the job can run continuously or in phases
• Below-grade rooms, which add slab moisture testing and possibly a mitigation system
• Stair count and the tread detail chosen
• Furniture and appliance moving, including gas ranges that need a licensed disconnect
• Occupied-home sequencing, which takes longer than an empty house
• Wear layer and core spec of the product selected

Residential LVP Flooring is quoted the same way everything else here is: we walk the rooms, measure, check the subfloor, and send a written scope. Licensed and registered, bonded and insured in Idaho, under Idaho contractor registration RCE-57919, and our installation work carries a 1-year craftsmanship warranty.

Questions about residential

Do we need to move out?

No. Most residential jobs are done in zones with the household in place. We ask that you clear closets and small items; we handle furniture and appliances by arrangement.

Can you match LVP to an existing floor in the next room?

Matching an existing installed product exactly is rarely possible unless the original line is still in production. More often the honest answer is a deliberate transition at the doorway rather than a near-miss that reads as a mistake.

Is LVP good with dogs?

It is one of the better hard surfaces for dogs, but wear layer thickness is what determines scratch performance. Thin-wear-layer builder-grade product with a large dog and a gravel driveway is a bad combination, and we will say so.
