LVP Flooring Installation in Star, Idaho

Star has grown faster than almost anywhere in the valley, and the housing reflects it: mostly recent construction, large plans, and a lot of homeowners upgrading builder-grade flooring within the first few years of ownership.

Star housing stock

Heavy concentration of 2015-onward subdivision construction, modern farmhouse and two-story plans, plus older homes and acreage parcels near the original town center and along the Boise River.

  • North Star
  • Star acreage parcels

Subfloor conditions we find in Star

New OSB over engineered joists throughout the newer developments. The floors are typically flat, so the prep effort goes into seam sanding, fastener checks and removing construction adhesive squeeze-out. Older properties near the river need crawlspace moisture verification.

Local considerations

The most common Star project is replacing thin builder-grade LVP that is already showing scratches with a heavier wear-layer product — often within five years of the home being built. Where the existing floor is a floating click-lock, removal is fast and the subfloor beneath is usually in good shape, which keeps the scope focused on material and stairs.

Common Star projects

  • Builder-grade LVP upgrade to higher wear layer
  • Whole main-floor plank in new construction
  • Stair tread conversions
  • Great-room expansion break correction
